“The Teca House project was born with the intention of creating new possibilities of relationship with and for our Biella area. A point of departure and arrival for a heterogeneous public, a container of culture, beauty and harmony. A visual reference point that becomes an opportunity to create interaction and sharing“.
“Every great project borns from the meeting of thoughts“.
“WHEN I PURCHASED THE SMALL RUIN AND THE GROUND WHERE NOW STANDS THE TECA HOUSE, I HAD NO IDEA WHAT IT COULD HAVE BECOME. THE CONFRONTATION WITH FEDERICO DELROSSO, WITH WHOM I HOLD A SINCERE PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY RELATIONSHIP, HIS VISION ON ARCHITECTURE AND THE ROLE THAT IT CAN AND MUST HAVE, FASCINATED AND PERSUADED ME TO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY THAT THIS PLACE WAS OFFERING ME: TO BE ABLE TO LEAVE A SIGN THAT REMAINED BEYOND MY TIME AND MY FAMILY ONE. WITH THIS AWARENESS I ACCEPTED THE PROJECT PROPOSALS. IT WAS A CHALLENGE TO ACCOMPANY THE CREATIVE PROCESS OF FEDERICO: BEHIND EVERY DETAIL THERE ARE DRAWINGS, THOUGHTS, SOLUTIONS DISCARDED IN FAVOR OF WHAT HAS BEEN REALIZED. A CORRECT AND HONEST APPROACH WITH WISDOM. A GREAT ATTENTION GIVEN TO LANDSCAPE, SPACES, MATERIALS, AND FINISHES. A SIGN HAS BECOME A DREAM”.
“There are certain vital elements in any project that make it recognizable and coherent to a thought, effective for the user often, both visually and in the way it is used, but what makes an Architecture special is not the project as an aim in itself, but the alchemy generated between the built space, the environment and the man”.
THE PROJECT, WHICH AIMS TO RECOVER A SMALL RUSTIC BUILDING ON BIELLA’S HILLS, IS BASED ON A COMPOSITIVE INVERSION, WHICH BRINGS A SMALL PRE-EXISTENT RUSTIC VOLUME TO THE OUTSIDE, DEMATERIALIZING IT AND GENERATING A NEW FUNCTION TO THE TERRITORY. FROM THE “ROOTS” OF AN AGRICULTURAL PAST, NOW IN DISUSE, SIGNS OF WHICH ARE MAINTAINED, A CONTEMPORARY WORK IS BORN. THIS WORK IS ROOTED IN THE TERRITORY AND IN BALANCE WITH IT, BUT AT THE SAME IT IS TIME PERMEATED WITH NEW POSSIBILITIES OF CONNECTION. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT AND BETWEEN “WORK” AND CONTEXT IS BALANCED WITHOUT CHANGING THE DIMENSIONAL EQUILIBRIUM OF THE PLACE, ALSO TO ENHANCE ITS ENVIRONMENTAL VALUE AND BECOMING NOT ONLY A CULTURAL POINT OF REFERENCE BUT ALSO A VISUAL ONE. THE RURAL WALL SYSTEM BECOMES THE BASE, THE CONNECTION WITH THE TERRITORY FROM WHICH A LIGHT, NEW AND TRANSPARENT INTERVENTION IS BORN: A CONCRETE STRUCTURE, OPEN TO THE LANDSCAPE, WITH TWO WIDE HORIZONTAL WINGS AND A GLASS SKIN, TOTALLY OPENABLE, THAT ENCLOSES THE VOLUME.
“In this project, the display case holds the man and his emotions. A privileged and poetic point of view, a total immersion in nature, almost as if the user were suspended in the void. At the same time, it works in negative: glance is raised from inside to outside, indicating human being centrality”.
